An amazing human being. I had the pleasure of meeting Jimmy in San Francisco in 2000. He was very cordial and outgoing. I really felt like I met a legend that night.

You will be missed!

Where's my waitress? You can take this pen and hang it in your ass! You ain't the Devil!

THANK YOU!
You said that Perry Mason and the Defendants was the best name for a band ever - we rode up to Dallas in my '66 Chevy and played a couple of gigs. Thanks for bring a good friend Jimmy -
Thank you, Jimmy, for so much. Your music always inspired, amused, and entertained. I hope when you get to wherever all the great souls go, you get to say, "Hi...I'm Jimmy Carl Black. I'm the Indian of the Group." Rest in peace.
My deepest sympathies to the Black family. Jimmy you were a big part of my younger days. We never could quite find the bottom of the beer box at the King's X or the New Buffalo no matter how hard we tried! I will really miss seeing you on the Border, I always looked forward to seeing you when passed by!
Never heard of Jimmy Carl Black to tell you the truth. El Paso media has a knack to stay away from publicizing much of its recent musical talent. For example Mars Volta was published only one week before leading up to its El Paso show. But I want to say that I busted my foot Saturday night November 1, 2008. And I was in Germany last year in the summer. So if Jimmy Black wanted to get my attention, I am listening now.
the closest I ever came to meeting you was on the ferry to vancouver island in '83, running into a guy with a t-shirt with your face pon it who said was your cousin ... I'll never forget how you play 6/8 - ur a guitarist's dream drummer - one of the big cartoon characters in my life - thx!
You are a unique being, a great musician, and someone who will be remembered. Rest In Peace
Thank you for everything you did ! RIP
Rhythm man extra ordinare... thanks for all the live Mothers shows in the turbulant '60's you were in it for the FUN... and we shared it with you...
Without Jimmy, who knows? From the Soul Giants on, Jimmy was a true original. He'll be missed. Say "hi" to Frank, Jimmy, if the universe works that way.
