Goodbye my friend - it's a great loss for all of us but you will stay in our hearts and minds. An Moni: wir haben uns leider nur 1x getroffen (Fieberbrunn), ich wünschte, es wäre uns öfter vergönnt gewesen; was bleibt, ist seine Musik und die Erinnerung an einen besonderen Menschen. Alles Gute!
I just read about Jimmy's demise a couple of minutes ago on the net. This is really a shock to me. I once had the privilege to see him perform in a small theatre in Vlissingen, the Netherlands, with the Muffin Men. It was one of the most unforgettable concerts I have ever attended. As it turns out, that was a once in a life time experience, alas.

My regards to his friends and relatives. May lonesome Cowboy Burt rest in peace! He lives on in a lot of memories, including mine.

Rest in peace Until your next gig, I will be there!

Dr. Leland
Eternety won't last long. We will meet in a minute. Wait for me!
What an integral part of the Mothers. Sorry I am sad, we are only here so long on this dirt ball in the universe. What music! Love you Jimmy.
A fine musician. A free spirit. A real gentleman. I had the good fortune to meet him after a show in Tokyo last year, and he was enthused and wide-eyed as a 9 year old boy.

Anthony,
Santa Sprees
Our friend Jimmy Carl "Sonny" Black deserves to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.. Tell the Hall of Fame and everyone that you know to tell them to induct him into the Hall of Fame.... Gracias.
I just learned of Jimmy Carl's passing. What a shock! Only last night we 3 music buddies watched this documentary on FRANK ZAPPA IN THE 60s from Amazon. What a piece of hooey - there was scarce concert footage (the main selling point!) but thankfully lots of the late, great Mr. Black. In the bio was JCB's URL.

Aw man. I just went there to email him & tell him how I felt about him and his music.

Gone!

I loved him & his drumming. I got to know him a bit thanks to the video; he's like a favorite Uncle I never got to meet. Now he's gone.

We miss you. God love & keep you. I shake your astral hand. Say hi to Loius Armstrong, Mr. E.Kovacs, 4SJ & Joe Stefano for me. Hey, go easy on Zappa. He didn't have your shining soul.

Douglas Barrett Jones
MV/CA
(Hi to Ira & Dave)

I met Jimmy back in the 70's at the Brass Ring in Encino, Ca. when Geronimo Black was playing there.

We lost touch for a long time and he was really planning on coming back to the US as soon as George Bush was out of office.

I am sorry he didn't get that chance.

Last year was a bad year for my friends, I lost a dear friend in Oct, Delaney Bramlett who I work for in December and Jimmy.

Here is to a better 2009!

Jimmy R.I.P.

Best,

Steve Fischler
Magnolia Gold Records
Fischler Artist Promotions
