just heard of the passing of Jimmy. very sad. saw the Mothers many times in the 60's but did not get to meet him. by whateveryone else has posted, he seems like he was a real cool guy. just was playing Ruben & the Jets 2 weeks ago and loved his drumming on that. the guy had a killer back beat. my sympathies to his family.
you will be missed. peace
I just heard the news of Jimmy's death tonight and i am of course very sad to hear of his passing. My band Bigfoot were fortunate enough to support Jimmy a few years ago when he toured with The Muffin Men, and as well as playing a great set to a sold-out & adoring crowd, he found time to chat and crack jokes with everyone. He came across as a modest, warm, humble & funny man without airs or graces. As longtime fans, it was an honour to meet and play on the same bill as the great man.
My warmest thoughts go out to his family.
Kit.
I am saddened by your passing. I blinked, and more than 30 years just passed. You and the Mothers were one of a kind.
Farewell, Jimmy -- thanks for all the good stuff, the laughs and the music.
Jim,
All the Mother's fans are gonna miss you.
What's Zappa music without the Indian?
Peace,
Funkateer
Jimmy, you will be missed, truly. I knew you as Sonny, when you lived in Anthony, and I knew your sons, when I taught at Gadsden HS in the mid-70s. You were always very sweet and fun. Love and blessings to your family, Judy Downs-Lombardi

[EIMG]f152c7_judylombardi[/EIMG]
