Jimmy and rock the heaven!!!!!
your friend andré (leftie)
I just heard the news of Jimmy's death tonight and i am of course very sad to hear of his passing. My band Bigfoot were fortunate enough to support Jimmy a few years ago when he toured with The Muffin Men, and as well as playing a great set to a sold-out & adoring crowd, he found time to chat and crack jokes with everyone. He came across as a modest, warm, humble & funny man without airs or graces. As longtime fans, it was an honour to meet and play on the same bill as the great man.
My warmest thoughts go out to his family.
Kit.
Jimmy, you will be missed......

I am going to have a rememberence smoke for you this weekend.... Gonna dig out some Geronimo Black, and Zappa and even some Beefheart.....

Hope it's all good where you are right now...

I send my wishes to your family and friends during this time.....

I will still have the harmonica you signed for me at the robin gig back in April 2007.....

God Bless Captain Beefheart you signed it...

take care....
Es war schön Dich als Freund zu haben, unsere
gemeinsam verbrachten Stunden werde ich nie vergessen.

Good bey Jymmi
god bless you jimmy. i love you like a brother. the times we spent are legendary and i charish all the great memories from singing on our first wedding anniversary to the motor toilet....
i am comforted knowing you are home again, reunited with husta...YOU WERE ALWAYS THE MAN
I am sorry to hear of Jimmy Carl Black's passing. He was a truly unique artist whom I admired. When he was in the Mothers I dug him as a role model as I was a half-breed kid from the wastes of Texas who wanted out and I looked up to him for laughs. "Lonesome Cowboy Burt" was pure genius. "Cruisin' With Ruben and the Jets" is for the ages. Jimmy Carl seemed to like people when Frank Zappa seemed to have contempt for people. Jimmy was 100% an American character.
He picked me up while I was hitchhiking across Los Angeles during the late 60's. Had a great time, and the first time I ran into Santa Marta Gold. God Bless you Bro' I have always had good memories of that ride, it was a definite "Sign of the Times". R.I.P.
After a few bones w/ the M.O.I. somewhere in the Village, Jimmy turns to me and says:"What R U high?" We had all come from boogieing with the Blues Project and I remember Tim Hardin puking on Jimmies Beatle boots and I replied "no, but Tim might be.
My condolences to the family..
You will be missed.
I am so sorry to hear that Jimmy has passed away.
I saw Jimmy a week before he passed away on Saturday in Höpfling on his balcony talking with friends and enjoying the afternoon. I heard recently that he was living not far from us in Siegsdorf.
I send all my compassion to his wife and children.
It is hard to lose a dad or a husband.

RIP

David, Am venusberg, Siegsdorf
Hey Jimmy,

You were a great guy. We only meet a few times but it was always fun. New Years eve 1985 in Arizona stands out as a winner.

You will be missed. Good luck to all your family you live behind. My best wishes.

N
