Thanks for the menudo. It was served up after the Geronimo Black gig in San Miguel, New Mexico in 1972. It was good and hot.

No fair you had to leave so soon.

adios - john

Jimmy, you will be missed so much! Some of my fondest memories are of hanging wtih you and Big Sonny back in El Paso, being there when you guys recorded the In Heat album, sharing so many laughs and good times...Do you remember getting so frustrated with my son clomping around on the wood floors of the studio at Con Safo records? :-)

My thoughts and prayers to your family. I know they must be celebrating your life while struggling with their loss.

Love,
Barb

I will miss you very much. You touched so many lives with your music and humor. I'm glad to have shared a brief period of time with you.

Jimmy Carl Black became an icon for me and my cousins way back in the late sixites, in part because we are "Indians." Jimmy's rock musician status made us feel we were not invisible in an otherwise "black and white" music scene. Being an "Indian" often times means being invisible to the modern world. Jimmy Carl Black kept true to his love for song and music and that makes him a true American and international artist. Que Viva el Jimmy, the Indian in the group!

Glad to have seen JCB swinging behind the drum kit, grinning like a boy, about a year ago in Boston with Eugene Chadbourne. Filled my heart.

I'll always remember you, Sonny, and the days when we bonded, loading hay in the upper valley in El Paso with our pals on Jimmy Ulmer's farm. God Bless You..

Hi. I am Jimmy's cousin. My grandfather's brother was Jimmy's father, on my grandfather's side of course. Inkanish is a Caddo word, so Jimmy was actually Caddo, not Cheyenne, as recorded. Nevertheless, our family offers condolences, and special ceremony blessings for the family and friends. Please, let me know where to send flowers. E-mail me if you can with information ASAP.

Jimmy is much more than a great musician and entertainer, Jimmy was & always will always be a friend of his fans. I was lucky enough not only to have corresponded many times by email over the years with Jimmy, to which I purchased a great part of his collection all signed J.C.B. at an unheard of price always followed with a freebee of some sort, but had the great pleasure of having had Jimmy come to my hotel room to meet my wife & myself once he heard that one of his fans had travelled from Canada to Albuquerque NM & was staying in the same hotel as he.
